I'm going to build a new computer and I need good parts and prices if you could help me, As I dont have knowledge about making parts work with each other. I'm needing an up to date upgraded. I was thinking of DDR 2 and Dual Core etc. I dont need a massive machine for high core gaming etc just somthing Decent that does the Job for web designing, Graphics, Internet, Msn, Football Manager and other things.

I have 300 to 400 pounds to play with can you guys help me out on finding some decent gear?

I already have CD/DVD Drives - Hard Drive - Power Supply though its only standard and might be best getting a more powerful one if needed - standard fan and heatshink which I can upgrade myself later on or would it be better getting new gear.... I have a graphics card here also which is a Radeon 9200 quite old now so Ill need a new one.

The parts ill be needing is everything else - CPU, Motherboard, Memory and Graphics.

Thanks Very Much

First off, it might be a good idea to upgrade your Hard Drive too, from IDE to S-ATA 2 - faster by far and better!

So, we want a basic machine, CD2 CPU, MB, with around 1GB no less than 512MB - about a 120-320 GB S-ATA2 HDD, at least 400W PSU and a case to go along with it if you feel it's wise.

Not sure on the speed of the CPU, let me make a suggestion.
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E4300 1.8GHz 800MHz 2MB LGA775 CPU, Retail, $179.99 should be aright to do what you want. Faster in GHz is not a key here.

Unless you like the: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E6400 2.13GHz 1066MHz 2MB LGA775 CPU, Retail $229.99

Next is a MB: GIGABYTE GA-965GM-S2 Core 2 Duo/ G965/ DDR2/ A&V&GbE/ MATX Motherboard $115.99

Specs:
* Mfr Part Number: GA-965GM-S2
* CPU: LGA775 support Intel Core2 Extreme/ Core2 Duo processor; FSB 1066/800/533 MHz
* Chipset: Intel G965 & ICH8
* Memory: 4x 240pin DDR2-800/667/533 DIMMs, Dual Channel, Max capacity 8GB
* Slots: 1x PCI Express x16 slot; 1x PCI Express x1 slot; 2x PCI slots
* IDE/SATA: 1x ATA-100 Channel; 6x SATA2 Ports, Supports RAID 0, 1, JBOD (2 ports with RAID function supported by GIGABYTE SATA2)
* Audio: Realtek ALC883 8-Channel Audio CODEC
* Video: Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3000 (Intel GMA X3000) Graphic Controller
* LAN: Marvel 8056 Gigabit LAN Controller
* Ports: 10x USB 2.0/1.1 Ports (4 rear, 6 by headers); 3x IEEE1394a Ports (1 rear, 2 by headers); 2x PS/2 Ports; 1x Parallel Port; 2x Serial Ports (1 rear, 1 by header); 1x VGA Port; 1x RJ-45 Port; Audio I/O Jacks
* Form Factor: MATX, 244 x 244 mm
* Package: Retail

Now the RAM: Kingston D2-533 1G/128x64 Memory $74.99
A S-ATA 2 HDD: Samsung HD321KJ 320GB SATA2 7200rpm 16MB Hard Drive $99.99

If you are thinking against the case idea, and just want to upgrade to a reputable PSU instead, try this manufacture: Enermax Liberty ELT400AWT 400W Power Supply $76.99

If you have any questions, let me know. I sell all of these, and others. I'm a reseller on hardware & software with Intel & Microsoft. I build systems. So, my assistance of getting you these parts will be helpful for you. Plus, they all have a standard manufacture warranty.

saiid he needs a vid card and that stuff will put him over his budget, and he said he doesnt need to upgrade hd he is fine with the one he has, to stay in ur budget go with the pentium d series it dual core and cheaper

True, he did mentioned C2D as a cpu... the IDE is just an option. The video card he can upgrade if he desires too... but the MB I quoted has onboard Video. Unless, being that he said he didn't want to play games, high end stuff, he get away from buying a PCi-Express card for now, and use the onboard video to buy him some time. I was giving him options. Can easily quote him a Dual Core if he wants one.

So, PC Magic... do you want a C2D CPU or Dual Core, and do you really want a PCI-Express video card or is the onboard alright with you?

Thanks for the reply, That seems a wee bit over my budge, Ill have a more in depth look at it all later, Not got great time at the moment.

Sorry, Whats the diffrence from C2D Dual Core whats better ?
PCI-Express is better so Ill go with that.

The Core 2 Duo is dual-core, they thrash their NetBurst the Pentium D's. Even the E6300 can beat an EE Pentium D. Also, bear in mind this guy is from the island of Great Britain so NewEgg etc is out of the question.

Here's a website of a shop that close to me.

http://www.e-woc.co.uk/090307 ewoc price list.pdf

Is there any recommendations from here? I thought Bundle two (black box) was quite cheap, £169, AMD SOCKET AM2 DUAL CORE BUNDEL, Is it just a load of crap hardware in that bundle. Are these prices quite cheap?

Can anyone see anything decent for me to get in these websites from my price range.

Thanks A lot

Much Appreciated.
