Build

cant see your thing post each individually but you may want to jump on that foxcon board there going fast like hot cakes lol

I would pick the motherboard with highest rating, altough I don't like FoxConn. I have built only one i7 PC so far and I have used Gigabyte - the cheapest one. I picked i7 920 and overclocked it to 3.2Ghz - really easy with Gigabyte, you keep everythng on auto and bump BCLK, I only lowered some of the voltages cause by auto it sets the too high. Did not go over 3.2Ghz because under 100% load with stock cooler it gets to 60C already - you might want better cooler. Antec 900 will do perfect for it, I've built mine in Antec 300 he-he. And make sure you really want that 4850 x2 - drivers are not cooked for it yet, I would get GTX 260 Core 216 too, that one 55nm, and the moboyou want supports SLI, but the PSU should have 4+ PCI-e 6pin cables.

Ok, the foxconn is no longer available so i thought that would make my decision easier. But nope, there are 4 kinds of the other board that i wanted. Which is the Asus p6t.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...PA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=p6t&x=8&y=26

I was thinking about getting the one that comes with the palm for overclocking.

Lastly, I need to know if i should go with 1TB hardrive and install the OS and use it as storage. Or should i get maybe 2 500 GB.

Please Help, i need to buy this all tomorrow.

before you buy, if you havn't yet, read this article [Link]. The actual article is decent but the comments are revealing. If you are not into dealing with customer support and updating your bios every week you may want to go with something else. the x58 mobo's do not appear to be making people happy. Everything I have read about the bloodrage inparticular seems to be along the lines of "Great board if it worked". GL

You misunderstood me. What i was saying is. The foxconn isnt available anymore and i had sad it was between the foxconn and the asus p6t. But since the foxconn isnt available i thought well hey only one board to get now. But no. There are four kinds of the asus p6t. open the link above, so i dont know which to get.

ic ic. But, my point is not that just the foxconn is getting negative feedback, the x58 family is getting the door slamed on it. I have not used one so take my post with a grain of salt. I am just saying, I have been reading as much as I can about these products and all it has done is made my buy a q6600. This article is about x58's, scroll down a half page and there is an insert from Anand ("BIOS Ridiculousness"), pretty much spelling out the dismal state of current X58 mobos. [Link]

Don't want to scare you. It's just that if I was buyin a new system (which I am) I would want all the info possible! ;) Reliability over potential.

imho, i think that is just another reviewer who may have had a bad experience. But if you go to another site and read their review who had an outstanding experience, they will say something like "x58 + i7 = the future".

Yeah, DarkTears, you probably will cry after you realize that windows won't let you read a book in the time it takes to load.

It always surprises me that people still manage to find PC's that slow "useable".
