Well I've given up on my P4 478... new motherboards with the features i want dont exist, and i think its time to upgrade anyways....
so heres what im lookin at for my next pc... tell me what you guys think, any comments are appreciated :)
i will be using my old ocz 1gb dual channel platinum el and my 2 36gb raptors, thus they are absent on the list as of now :P

Power Supply
video card
board
cpu
heatsink
dvd burner

ill eventually double the ram, get an lcd, aluminum case, and another hard drive for storage/backup.

im not sure if im gonna overclock... probably wont, but i might change my mind down the road.
thanks for the psu recommendation... i had a hard time findin one with pci-e supply!

-that PSU is a ripoff , try getting a antec if you plan on paying 90 bucks...
-and the DVD Burner is a rip, its not even dual layer... if your not looking for dual layer then you could prolly get a lite-on for 40 bucks ( i think at newegg.com )

What are you going to be using this computer for? That video card seems a bit intense for a regular gaming computer. You could get a 6800GT or a cheaper high end video card that will prolly suit your needs.

1. i like the dvd burner for the sata. my friend has a dual layer external that i can use to back files, other than that i dont need 8gb
2. the video card is just future proofing my comp: itll be the last thing i get (which might take a while to save for) but i expect them to be a bit cheaper by then. that video card better be intense for a regular gaming computer... thats the point :)
i would just prefer to invest in something that is much better than the next best thing.

why? when the fortron there is friggen sweet and the PowerStream470 has the same 12v rail?

you may want to consider the px716 burner
