Hi all, just wanted to run by two different systems i've put together for someone who wants me to build a PC for Christmas...bit late for ordering I know but hey ho!
The first I based around a configuration I saw on Bit Tech and the second is the budget buy from Custom PC. Would really appreciate any input!

One thing that might need bearing in mind is that he has a 32" HD tv it's going to be hooked up to...

(Budget is £500 approx)

Bit Tech build:

Pretty sure that's everything! As I said, his primary monitor will be a 32" HD TV and he has an OEM Win 7 to use up. Cheers guys!

PS, with the first one I'm really not sure on the graphics card. I haven't kept up to date on graphics cards in a while ;P

The first system is definitely stronger (mainly because of the graphics card), but I'd definitely change the power supply to a higher wattage unit. 430W is pushing it for a 6870, I'd go for a 500W unit like this one http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/powersupplies/cp-9020047-uk.html it's only a couple of quid more than the other PSU you were looking at.

If you have a Blu-Ray ROM you don't need a DVD-RW too, you only need the BR-ROM. It should also be able to burn DVDs. Mine does.
