Building a AMD gaming computer, noob needs help

Trying to build an AMD gaming computer. I have never built a computer before and I don’t know a whole lot about computer parts. I picked these parts out so far by reading the forums and newegg reviews. I am looking to spend around 1500 to 1600. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Would I need to buy a fan/heat sink? Any suggestions on a case?

Nice case.

Your money would be wiser spent on a Core i7 system if you have that much in your budget. Core i7 is the best available right now, and there's no signs of anything coming to take it's place. :good:

Well I did most of my research on the AMD build. I am not the smartest when it comes to parts, can you guys help me come up with an intel 7 build that is better then what i posted so far? I went with AMD cause i thought the intel 7 were very expensive.

They are expensive.

But, you planned on spending that much anyway right? Might as well get the best your money can buy.

Ok so that Intel build will beat the AMD one hands down? And that comes in close to 1000 I still have 500 to play with anything I should upgrade from what you posted? I am looking to order this computer sometime this week, once I figure it all out.

That's everything you need.

You could look at getting a nicer case perhaps, and one more video card maybe.

Faster hard drive, new monitor...idk

A nice cpu cooler.

well I am trying to build the best Gaming computer I can for around 1500 so should I Xfire 2 cards and if so which 2 would be best with that I7 build?

A couple of these perhaps.

XFX Radeon HD 4870 1GB $144.99

The 4890's are a big jump in price, at a bit over $200 each.

If you're partial to nVidia, then this board is not for you, as it only supports Crossfire, and not SLI.

The difference is that ATI's multi-card mode is called Crossfire. nVidia's is called SLI.

You cannot "link" two nVidia cards on this board.
