Building A Computer - Australia

God knows I am not really one to be discussing AMD, but the way I understand it the 8 core is a 4 module design. Each module is like 1.5 cores but is marketed as 2. The module design will not perform quite as well as 2 actual cores. The FX series will hold its own in games, but you will get better overall performance from an intel 2500k or 2600k or the ivybridge replacement to them.

I'm sticking with intel!

spend more money on the graphics card, a 2500k is more than enough for any game and you would need a 400+ dollar video card for the 2500k at stock to bottle neck it.

please dont buy it until u see someone confirm or deny what im saying, a 150 dollar graphics card should be paired with like a 100 dollar cpu

2 things. 1. Do not double post. There is a edit button to add to your post. Double posting is inconsiderate and in some cases can be against the rules.

2. The 560 is a good match to the 3570k. The cost is not so much to consider rather than the power. I still recommend a 560ti as it is a touch more powerful, or drop to the 460 as it is the same thing and cheaper.

and its not really worth it with the overclocking. Its good enough stock and you will not see a great deal of improvement by overclocking past about 4.3 or so. Both will reach that without any trouble.

nothing better. Had the computer in sig for nearly a year with a mechanical drive. Got a SSD and haven't looked back. The speeds and loading times are just ridiculously fast.

O.k, but I'm a little short on money, if I load an OS and a few programs onto a particion, will I be able to copy all the data directly on the SSD?

much appreciated

Looks like a decent build and getting some good info. I like when people actually try and help, especially people that are new to building. Hey WOLF AMD FTW.... Muhahaha hehehehe I just saw your sig, sorry couldn't help it. Nuke this is where I learn to build my first gaming rig also. I'm still using it to this day with an E8500 and a 4870 gpu. Decide what you truely want it for and always spend a few dollars more when in doubt. I think we actually over build computers on the forum, because we think we have too or want the best possible cpu we can get. At least for me, I wanted something really nice and it's lasted 4 years and still does good for me. I probably didn't have to buy the newest video card that just came out or the 8500 over the 8400, but little tweaks give it your own personnel touch... Enjoy and have fun building. Oh and I'm with you. I'm going the intel/nvidia route this time around.....

Great advice

What's your opinion on aftermarket CPU coolers?

If you're overclocking, definitely necessary. Even if you aren't, one will be quieter and cooler. Your call.
