Building a computer (hardware and software suggestions)

Basically, that build's price could come down quite a bit, but the specs would come down with it. We could get it down inside $1500 and you'd still have a good rig.

But, my argument is that the build as-is will let you go for a long time without needing any upgrades at all, and will completely demolish any game that comes out in the near future. That thing could probably top 100 FPS in any game currently on the market.

You also get a lot of ooh's and aah's when you show it off, lol.

edit: forgot to answer this:
and would vandassen's mobo be compatable with the cpu u suggested? because his has like 3 pci and pci express things, idk what i need though
It would be compatible with all of the parts except for the case. That one's a really odd size. Both of them have all the connectors you need, though. Pretty much the only thing modern mobo's lack is a wireless card, and if you don't have a slot left for that you can just get it as a USB unit.

oo i see u upgraded everything would that all work? would it work with the other cooler master case lmao cuz i like the lights lol

Not everything...just the cooling. Yeah it'll all work. I changed it because this setup will provide better airflow. I can go back if you want.

This one has red lights too, btw...the extra fans I posted all have red LED's. The lights in the other case were from the fans as well. Actually, I think there was just one LED fan on the front of it. (it was the red HAF, right?)

You can add a CCFL kit too if you want..that'd be brighter than the lights in either case:

That would make it look something like this, but better:

Wow Dren, incredible build!

I can't figure out why the mobo won't fit (my case had a 750W btw) because I must be overlooking something.

ATX?

Thankee :)

That motherboard is an SSI CEB model...not ATX at all, though it's very similar. It's roughly the same size as the E-ATX one in my build, but even harder to find cases for. CEB is typically a server format.

yea drenlin i like what u changed everything to =P but if i were to get the fan controller would i just turn them all on at all times or what lmao stupid question

The fan controller is so you can turn the fan speed down, which keeps the volume down. It allows you to get a good balance of noise and cooling performance.

^ agree with Dren

I've been messing with my build a lot since I got it. I like to max out the graphics and see how quiet I can get while staying in comfortable temp zones. I can't say enough good things about having 3 speed fans throughout, so the whole thing can be tweaked in so many ways (hot GPU or CPU or HDD or RAM? no prob ;) just up one fan and down the other!)

thx for answering about mb I was kinda guessing :o

I wish I had $3k

btw, I have Aion running at 8AA in the 50C's at 40fps (in town, lot of traffic) to 140+ fps in the fields! Splendid Graphics!! Anyone else playing Aion? (I need a group for the Abyss!)
