Building a Computer need help

Hopefully this will be my last post. Is there a difference between video cards? like an Asus vs a HIS vs Saphire vs an ATI etc? Like as long as it says Radeon 6770 is it fine to use?

Sometimes different manufactures overclock the cards and they all bundle them with different accessories and all have different warranties and different cooler designs. Sapphire is a good brand, as is ASUS and HIS, MSI and XFX. Go for a card manufactured by any one of those brands. I wouldn't bother spending the extra on an overclocked card by the way.

Does the power supply simply need to be 500w or is there more to look for?Is 650W too big? For the motherboard just look for the sata and 6gb/s or more?

650W is fine for a 6850 or a 550 Ti, a quality 500W PSU would be enough. The Antec Neo 520W would be fine, that's a good PSU.

You need SATA 6GB/s and USB 3.0 (all new boards have these anyway) and decent chipset on the motherboard, and preferably ATX form factor. Which motherboard were you looking at?

The case is OK - the PSU isn't. This one would be good http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341047&Tpk=ocz zs 550 I have the 650W variant and it's working fine for me.

I'd recommend a Corsair 300R for the case by the way. It's more expensive but it's a better case. This CM should be OK anyway though...

What do you mean "the hard drive won't work"??

It was a 3gb/s which wasn't ATX form and after looking at the description more it was listed as new but said refurbished when you clicked on it.

And do I need to get a sound card or will one be built into a piece that I am already purchasing?
