building a computer

Its been a while since messin around with stuff like this.
I was given a motherboard and have a tower with hard drive and dvd drive.

MB is ASUS M2N(GREEN) part num 90-MIB020-GOAAYGZ

the person who gave it to me said it wouldnt work for some gaming he was doing. Is this a good MB? I only need to use for word processing and accessing the internet.
Looks like there are a lot of options for CPUs with price ranging from $40 to $400. would hate to buy the cheap chip and have it run bad no matter how much memory I put in.
what do you think would be a good setup for my needs? cpu, memory and power supply.

forgive me for being so ignorant... does the mb i have NEED a video card? or is it built in? I dont need anything for gaming. If I do need one, any advice on an inexpensive one?
Recomendations on a small hard drive?

If you want it for gaming then you have to get a good graphics card.

Yeah, unfortunately it looks like you do actually need a graphics card. But if it isn't for gaming, you can pick them up super cheap on newegg.com, tigerdirect.com, or any number of online retailers.
