Building a Computer

no yeah i get how a motherboard and a processor is different, i just thought that amd made motherboards as well my bad, but with the set up i posted above what is a good video card to go along with that a Radeon 9600? or is there something better that i can get for my money?

You are going way ahead of yourself. You are attempting to build a computer and have no idea what the compenents do and how they function. You really should read the 101s in atleast cpu / video card / mother board / and psu sections. You will learn sooo much. GL

Dude I'm not in DEGD for no reason I think I know what is going on got alittle confused on who made what sorry. but i think i got a list almost done, tell me what you think.

ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe ATX AMD Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 4000+ 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Processor
Evga GeForce 7800gt
Maxtor MaXLine Plus III 300GB
Rosewill RP550-2 550W
Rosewill 1GB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM

what you think anything?

Looks pretty good, but i'd get the AMD X2 3800+ over that processor. It'll perform significantly better with newer multithreaded games/apps. Also, I think that video card comes with a free motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130238

And I'd post this config in the Desktop Computers forum. Someone (probably Preator) will probably be able to come up with something better.
