Building a custom PC

Hey

I’m very new to building computers, have been looking at different components and everything for a couple of weeks now and think I’ve found what I want. Sadly I’m not sure if it is all compatible, any help would be much appreciated.

The components I’m thinking of getting are as follows:

1.Biostar N68S3 motherboard
2.AMD Quad Core 645 3.1Ghz CPU
3.8GB Ultra Fast DDR3 1333Mhz RAM
4.Hitachi 3.5" HARD DRIVE 1000GB/1TB SATA II 32MB
5.ATI Radeon HD 5450 PCI-EXPRESS GRAPHICS CARD 2GB

I am on a very tight budget, and if anything isn’t compatible would be very grateful for a cheap alternative that would be compatible.

Thanks

Lewis

Do you have links to each product?

What power supply are you looking at? Case? Operating system?

You need to make sure the Motherboard can support that kind of memory.

Then make sure your Motherboard has the same CPU socket as your CPU. (Am3, Am2, etc)

I would stay away from hitachis for your hard drive. Go with seagate/western digital/samsung.

Besides all that, looks like a pretty good machine.

Post links so we can check out the products easier. And so we know if you are getting the best deal. I assume you found everything on newegg?

EDIT: sorry didn't see claptonman's post

Here is a list of the links

This is a CPU Bundle, it come with the motherboard and memory:

This is the graphics card:

This was the hard drive I was going to go for:

This is a case I have been looking at not sure about the power supply though:

I assume with the motherboard and cpu being in a bundle, that they are compatible. I agree with claptonman's suggestions on the hard drive. I am not sure whether a 500W power supply is good for that setup, as I don't really know that much about power supplies.

I would definitely stay away from case/PSU deals. Better to get a high quality PSU than a bad one.

The graphics card is a little on the low side. It's a not-well-known brand and doesn't have a fan on it. Are you thinking of play games? What games? How well do you want them to run?

At the moment not really looking to play games on it at the moment, possibly in the future but if needs be will upgrade at a latter date for games.
Thanks both for the advice, will look for a better quality PSU but still try and get one with a low price as im on a very small budget, gotta save another few quid and then start building

^wrong, amd integrated video chips are on the motherboard, and if you get a hundred dollar mobo, or a 120 for 60/70 like the one on newegg's special right now, you can get an hd 3300 which is more than enough for just anything other than games, you probably could play some decent one, i can play some on my integrated geforce 7050
