C/P of order

We haven't used Team Extreme's RAM yet, but have heard good reviews. XMS and Asus just weren't getting along. :(

We'll be using the MaxOrb for the after market CPU cooler with artic5 paste.

I'll report back on what we get it to mhz wise...

We might move them to an e6850 since they seem to perform better overall, on games and I believe they may overclock better than the q6600, the boss doesn't mind taking the $30 hit to see a customer get a better machine. ;)

What are your opinions? I mean on the q6600 vs the e6850 for overclocking and end result gaming after overlocking? How about heat?

Thanks, love this site. :)

The quad core doubles the processing power and is nicely overclockable. Many people have gotten 3.33Ghz stable. This is with a high end supercooler though, such as the Zalman 9700, Tuniq tower, and TR 120extreme.

if current gaming is the prime object then the E6850 would be the fastest performing processor now. But if you can get another HSF with the Q6600 you could easily clock past the E6850's stock speed. I say Q6600.

Shipping a computer with one of those tower beasts on it from the USA to London might not work out well.

I suppose we could modify the case to place a supporting bar onto the cooler from the case door...

Eh..

yea as an regrettable owner of a quad seeing as how nothing actually utilizes it, go with the e6850 and overclock it.

He's now specifically asked for the quad.

Switching over to OCZ Platinum 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 from team extreme.

Hrm, the p5e32 is giving me a false possitive at start saying something is wrong...

It boots fine but I need to get rid of that error, other than that this is one sweeet machine.

I'll have some benchmarks up soon as well as a bioshock score ;)

Ouch.

I hooked up the guy and gave him my copy of Bioshock since he can't get it for a few months. He needs something impressive to test this beast on. :D
