would it be cheaper to just buy a gaming computer than to build one? i subscribed to a computer magazine and they have some really good deals on gaming systems. idk tho... i might rather want to build my own system. only because im sort of a techie kinda person. i love tinkering with electronics. computers mostly so i think i'd rather save up more an build the system i want. what do you guys think?

Building, deffo, most gaming OEM retailers over-price their components WAY too much.

Why would you rather buy a gaming computer? Just curious, nothing wrong with an opinion.

+1 I was thinking the same thing. Across from where I live, an intel i7 920 costs $450. Crazy as hell...

Yeah ive noticed they like to use a good processor and a decent video card to reel you in to make it seem like its a good deal. However they definitely go cheap on the powersupply, motherboard, and ram. Its definitely much better to go with building one instead of buying one value for money.

The only time I would ever buy one is if I picked the parts to go in it and was basically just paying for someone to put it together. Maybe someplace like iBuyPower...they offer a good warranty on the finished product, and lifetime tech support.

Other than that, you'll potentially save a good $1000 on a gaming computer if you build it instead of buying it.
