1500$ aprox budget.

MOTHERBOARD

My first doubt comes with the motherboard , id like to know if the second option is really worth it in this build since theres a diference of arround 50$
ASrock x58 Extreme 3 LGA Intel x58 SATA 6GB/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel motherboard

CPU
Im so lost in here. so here are my options , cpus between 200/300$ , Id like 2 know wich is the best for gaming and the differences between them, from what i've read i I'm about to pick the i7 950 because aparently is better for gaming but im not sure since its an old cpu and the phenom II x6 1100 and 1090 are kinda new

VIDEO CARD

In here i dont know what to pick , 2 gtx 470 in SLI or 2 HD 6870 in CROSSFIRE , from what i've read , the SLI works beter than the crossfire. Also gtx460 has more MHz in core clock and shader but less stream processors than the gtx470 and id like 2 know wich one is beter even i think the beter is the gtx 470, anyways here are the diferences:
GTX470

GTX460

Also those gtx have the same price more or less than the hd 6870 wich I think its also a good option.
Since i dont know wich brand i should buy in case of buying the 6870 i'll give u a list so u can tell me wich one would be beter.
hd 6870

The main question is , what i should buy? 2x gtx 470 , 2x gtx 460 or 2x hd 6870?

RAM

I've chosed this ram since its 1.5V so i dont think it doesnt damage the cpu , however I dont know anything about ram so i might have picked a bad option:
Also I wanna know if the ram will be able to keep up if i decide to overclock.
G.SKILL PI Series 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL7T-6GBPI

HARD DRIVE

Any suggestions? if not, planning to use this on raid 0 :

CASE

There will be much difference between this 2? Is it worth paying 50% more or with the first case its more than enough?

POWER SUPPLY

I was wondering if with 850w would be enough 2 run it with no problems at all with a light overclocking, here is my choice, is it enough?
SeaSonic S12D 850 Silver 850W ATX12V V2.3/EPS 12V V2.91 80 PLUS SILVER Certified Active PFC Power Supply

COOLING
First of all id like 2 know if u know of any good thermal compound, i've heard that all of them are good but i dont know wich 2 pick xD, and here's the fan ive selected:
Cooler Master V8 Nickel Plated Copper Base Aluminum Fins 8 Heatpipes Core i7 1366 CPU Cooler - (RR-UV8-XBU1-GP)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B001KUV2KQ

well this would be the first build, but also i've though on building this one:

Phenom II x6 1100t - processor
Corsair h70 - cooler
Crosshair IV formula – motherboard
4gb corsair dominator gt memory – ram
2x radeon hd 6870 – graphic card
2x Samsung F3 500GB SATA 3.0Gb/s – hard drive
any optical drive
corsair 600t – case
ax850 – power supply

Well thats all , Id like to know wich build to pick , or if theres pieces that should go in 1 build or another , the point of this is making a good build out of those two build and id like you to help me. Also I wanted to know if with that components tehre would be any kind of bottlenecking wich I think not but since I lack in knowledge I ask you =)

With your budget you may want to wait a bit for Intel's new platform coming out soon.
If you get or ever get an ssd for a boot drive the 6.0Gb/s would be preferable.
GSkil is good RAM. Just make sure you have clearance for the spreaders with your configuration.
Acrtic Silver 5 thermal paste is highly recommended.
The 1100T is pricey compared to the 1090T.

Where do you live? If you are near a Microcenter you can get the i7-950 for $200 plus tax. And 750W PSU would be enough for 2 cards. 850 might be more comfortable if you are a heavy OC'er though.

Intel's new platform? mind to tell me more about that pls?:P
Is ssd rly necessary even using 2 hard drives on raid 0 because ssd is so expensive :(

I live in Spain in some town lost in the mountains >.<

Btw the idea was that u guys make a mix from those 2 builds so it results in a single build .

i7 950 is overall faster than other two AMD processors, but unfortunately is more expensive as well

As for the video card, I would recommend a single GTX 570

I thought Sandy Bridge was cheaper? Anyway, go for a single GTX 570/ GTX 580 if you can afford it ;)

but why? i mean 2x gtx 470 or 2x hd 6870 give way better performance , and the advantage of the 570 or 580 is only that in the future i can add another one , or am i wrong and theres more tings besides that?

and u mean sandy bridge processor right? cheaper? how cheap u think it will be? o.o

Don't get GTX470, get 2 x HD6870 or single 570/580. Also consider HD6950/6970 Multiple card setups are harder to maintain, and drivers can be a pain, also some games see no benefit from multiple cards.

Well apparently a $200 Sandy Bridge CPU will give roughly the same performance as a current-gen $300 CPU. At stock, I assume.

I'm hearing that the SB 2600k will be able to OC to 5GHz.

(That one is actually serious, unlike the 47 core BD comment)

so for the price of an i7 950 ill aparently have one of the best sandy bridge o.o sounds really nice , theres much diference between 570 and 580? cuz theres a diffrence of 100$
