Building a Gaming PC

Hey everybody,
I'm going to try to make this short and sweet
I'm currently in the proccess of choosing what hardware should go in my new gaming computer.

This is my computer now:
Nvidea G-force 6600gt 128mb video card
Intel pentium 4 processor (2.4 ghz)
1 gb ram
75gb harddrive
STOCK dell mother board (from like 2002)

Are these parts adequate? Do you reccamend different brands? Etc etc?

If it were me, i'd downgrade the board to a Gigabyte 965P-DS3, switch the PSU to an XClio Goodpower 500W, and upgrade the video card to a 7900GT/7950GT. The video card is really the weak point of your config.

The videocard needs a change. Also that case you are buying seems a little expensive (to me) How much are you willing to spend. You could get a cheaper case and upgrade your Video Card.

Also, i am not too sure what case i should go with. I would like a full tower ATX. but which one would you suggest?

I have also decided to go with your suggested power supply and motherboard.

I would get this ram instead...it's $20 more, a more trusted brand, and a lot better, performance wise.

I was leaning more towards the XFX 7950gt rather than the BFG, what is the difference other than the price? Do you think i will recieve the same performance? Also, i am thinking about getting this ram:

bad timings for 40$ more u get 4-4-4-12 rather than 5-5-5-15, plus corsair is way more trusted as sum1 has stated

Whats the difference between the XFX vid card and the BFG vid card? (7950gt's)

xfx is heatpipe cooled without a fan, really just get whatever is cheaper
