core 2 duo is generally the better processor line but in this instance the AMD athlon X2 5000+ is on a par with the E6300 and possibly the E6400 so i see no major reason to swap over to intel other than preference.....

Because he could overclock it more easily than the x2 5000+?

yup everyones an overclocker...........

im stating that at stock the two are comparable, the core 2 duo line can indeed overclock better genrally, thats not to say the AMD wont at all. But not everyone is after overclocking the living hell out of a cpu.

There's really no point in getting an FX processor unless you plan to overclock. And if you plan to overclock, you're better off getting a core 2 duo, as they OF alot better.

Just wait till april 22 cuz most core 2 duo are reducing price, you could buy the e6600 by the same price that the e6400 is at this moment on newegg

i would go ahead and get the gigabyte ds3, but the fact that it has 1 pci-e 16x slot is making me have seconds thoughts becouse i was planning to SLI the two 8000's together. but at the same time i can probably OC the video card and get even more major performance (not as great as SLI but its something right?)

If you plan on SLI'ing 2 8800s I think you'll def. need a bigger PSU, maybe 700-1000watts. Even if you use 1 8800, it might be cutting it close with 530 watts
