My computer has been acting up for about a week, today it died. It will not boot up, no video at all, swapped video cards still nothing. That is only half the problem, long story, the computer has been acting stupid for several months.

I have a good case with a good power supply, good Ram, good CD drive, good mouse, good key board, good monitor, all I need is a new mother board, cpu and video card.

I built this computer 2 years ago I know technology has probaby taken several steps into the future since I last built a computer so I am sorta out of it.

In the past I built Fast Gaming computers with AMD Athlon MB and CPU. A good friend that use to build computers bought a DELL with a Intel CPU and the new Windows he says it is the best computer he ever had.

I need some input from you guys. I do a lot of ebay, email, I have slowed down some on Gaming just don't have the time for it anymore but I still like playing games sometimes.

What is a good MD?

What about a good CPU?

I need a good video card too?

If there is a good deal some place where I can buy a good system already built I might do that.

HELP NEEDED.

Approx $500

E8400 + GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R/ Asus P5Q Pro + ATI HD4850 + 2 x 2GB DDR2 1066 RAM (if you haven't got DDR2 RAM)

BEFORE you get a whole new build, try replacing the PSU, if you want to keep that PC. Other then that, daisy mad a good choise.

If you want to build a fast gaming computer for a fair price you may need new RAM. If your case can hold ATX MotherBoard it will be fine. I suggest DDR3 RAM theres a link to a good quality you can get other brands which are cheaper. As Elimin8or says you should replace the power supply because it may not have the power to keep your computer running for prolonged periods of time. these are all good parts the only problem is you may need to get windows vista 64-bit because anything less isnt compatible with the ammount of RAM.
