Building a new computer

So I've decided to finally enter the world of computer building. After a bit of research I've come up the the following component list:

Case - Antec P183
PSU - Antec CP-850
CPU - Intel i7-860 Core i7 2.80 GHz
MB - Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD4
Ram - G.SKILL Ripjaws 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
GPU - Sapphire 100282-3SR HD5850 OR
HIS H585F1GDG Radeon HD 5850
Sound Card - M-Audio Delta 66
HD - WESTERN DIGITAL WD1001FALS 1TB 32M 7200RPM SATA2 Caviar Black
Optical Drive - Sony AD7240SGB SATA 22x DVD±RW

I guess I'm looking for a bit of feedback. The computer will be used for music production and gaming. I'm also looking for something that will be relevent for a couple of years.

A couple of questions:
- Do any of the cheaper 5850 GPUs stand out?
- Have I missed anything vital?
- Will it all go together?

Thanks for any help.

the case you have chosen is crap. get an antec 900 or 1200 if you can afford it. the i7 860 is a good choice. get 6 gigs of ram so you can run in triple channel. for the psu get a corsair tx750w. thats all u'd need. everything else is fine

Go with a better brand GPU like XFX, or ASUS. I think ASUS has the best customer service and a 3 year warranty, XFX is double lifetime. Keep in mind that GPu will be worth $50 in 3 years.

See if you are near a Microcenter for that CPU, they are $80 less than newegg.

The CP850 only fits some cases, like the one you selected or the 1200, not the 900. I dont like 4 rail PSU's so I would get a 650TX/ 750TX as they are both single rail. That is your call.

Lol nice try... i7 860 can only run in dual channel.

So 4 is perfect.

goddammit I keep forgetting that. THATS why lga1156 is so much cheaper. get an x58 lga1366 mobo instead and get the 920 so u can run in triple channel with 6 gigs. trust me, the performance gain is UNREAL.
