So im trying to build a gaming computer. My range is about 400-500$. I already have the dvd drive powersupply. Memory. Can someone plz give me a list and a price list it would help (:

what's the power supply, brand is a really big thing for power supplies. a cheap-o one can end up blowing and have been known to take other parts with them.

indeed. I have a great "ultra" paper weight here. Like johnnyp said, more info on your other components

So you said you had a dvd drive and PSU, and you just gave a mobo and case, so im guessing you need the rest. I would get a i5 2500k if I had that board. look into good nVidia gfx. decent WD or seagate HD and just stick to on-board audio in your case

ok and how do i find out wat i have on my computer like do i go into control panel for my computer info cuz i dont wanna get a bad powersupply or sumthing thats not compatible and mess up my computer

belarc advisor
(the best hands down, (if anyone argues with that then they honestly have no idea what their talking about)

Ok thats is actually more than anyone needs to know. Now, what do you need to know that will work with that?
isn't belarc just amazing?

im trying to upgrade basically start a new computer with the case and motherboard stuff like that do yu have any ideas that would be compatiable with the things that i already have within the 400-500$ range

i know forsure that i need a new motherboard to fix the case that i posted because the case i have now is the mini box and i have the mini motherboard

OK going by your given coments what exactly are you trying to upgrade/change? You decision should not be based on your case because ATX form factors could easily interchange. (ATX, mATX, flexATX)
so what exact upgrades do you plan to accomplish?

Im trying to ugrade my computer to play games on. Im willing to change my motherboard. Wat other items do i need to make my new computer more game efficient

Im starting off with the case i posted then the motherboard i posted then i need a new cpu that will be compatiable with that motherboard and i also need a graphics card. I have a dvd drive and memory I might need a new powersupply

It just depends how high of performance you look to achieve. Looks like your CPU is socket AM2 so that is a good place to start. Go to newegg.com and look up some motherboards that support that feature and take memory and PCIe slots into account. (not to mention the chipset)

No offense but just wait for others to comment here at computerforums, they will be able to help just as much if not more, given you are a serious user looking for answers

ok and the motherboard i want is socket LGA 1155 type: Core i7 / i5 / i3 (LGA1155) so that means i need a new cpu rite?

then you will need to do away with your current board and processor but theres nothing at all wrong with that. personally I would say look into i5, that means a new "intel" sandy bridge CPU. and new motherboard. that is a very good place to start
