Building a new pc FOR THE FIRST TIME. Help's required.

Operating Systems can be installed via USB very easily these days. Pretty much any software is downloadable on the internet so the only real use for a disc drive is if you use it for watching movies, or listening to or making music CD's. Also sometimes data will be stored on discs but this is becoming less and less common. The only use I ever have for mine is making music discs for my car, and I know most people don't even do that.

This would work fine. http://www.kilobaitas.lt/DVDRW,_Blu...atalogStoreDetail.aspx?CatID=PL_392&ID=497044

If you need a BluRay drive then those are a bit more.

So the final buy is this:

PSU Corsair CX 600W, 80 Plus Bronze
ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 SocketAM3
AMD FX-8320
WD Red 3.5'' 1TB SATA3
DDR3 SODIMM Crucial 4GB 1600MHz 2x
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
Enermax OSTROG without PSU

That's it, right? :) I hope I'm not missing anything lol. Also, would I need to buy the thermal paste (not sure how it's called properly) tube?

Looks good. Forgot the 280x in that list though. The air cooler will come with paste so don't worry about that.

I really appreciate your help and effort. :) Thanks for not giving up on me mid way through lol. You'll be in my heart as I build my computer hahaha. I'm weird.

Happy to help!

Get a good feeling knowing some computer on the other side of the world was configured by me. :D

Are you building this yourself or getting it done by somebody else?

Will try to build it myself, if I fail, I'll take it to some specialists to do it. It's my first time afterall, kind of scared that I'd ruin something. Atleast I'll try lol.

Why are you going for a WD Red drive? They're for NAS drives and are designed to work in RAID and often they only spin at 5400 RPM. You want Blue or Black which are for consumers (Blacks are fastest but more expensive). You could also get a Green but like the Red drives they are slower.

So should I choose the WD Blue then?

From a price/performance point of view the Blues are the best drives.

Mah bad. :o

I thought the Reds were a step in between the Blues and the Blacks. Blue is the way to go after I did some proper research.

Also, building guide is in my signature below if you need some guidance.

Green = Low power (for consumers)
Blue = 7200 RPM good price (for consumers)
Black = Fastest and most reliable (for consumers)
Red = Usually 5400 RPM for RAID in NAS drives
Purple = Surveillance for RAID in NAS drives

:)

No problem, we all make mistakes. :) I will indeed use your guide to build my pc. :)
So this one? http://www.skytech.lt/wd10ezex-vidinis-diskas-blue-1tb-sata3-7200rpm-64mb-p-125133.html
