Building a new pc

I need a new computer for college, but I will also use it for a few games. I have about a $700 budget and I already have a monitor, speakers, keyboard, and mouse. Which would you recommend AMD 64 or P4? Also, if anyone would like suggest which parts to use I would appreciate any help I can get.

but amd and p4 can be!
amd is a pretty good choice for gaming!
it depends on yourself!
the MB is depends on the cpu u choose!
for me i will rather choose p4 because amd's temp normally runs high and that really makes me feel nervous, although most of the people say 'it's ok!! dont worried for nonsense!!'

With that budget, go for whatever you can get Your best out-of-the-box solution will prolly be P4E but its prolly a better deal to get a Socket754 A64
