Building a pc

I intend to spend around £600 for a pc. Starting with a bare bones package and adding the rest. 1 hard drive 1 processor and 1 Graphics card. May be used for gaming. What would you recommend?

I wouldn't recommend a barebone kit. They usually come with crappy parts. That's why they're so cheap.

It depends what type of barebones he is talking about. If he means one of those crappy setups that you see all over...I agree. But some online retailers offer custom assembled barebones of your choosing, or have quality barebones they put together themselves.

Mwave.com offers custom barebones systems (basically up to a full tower minus hdd and video card) with an insane selection to choose from...for great prices...the same prices the stuff actually goes for through them. Good way to sell more stuff IMO.

Its a bit out date, for instance socket AM2 processors have released since, and prices may have been lowered, but it will give you a general idea.
