Building a website

Okay so I'm hiring someone freelance to build a website for me and I'm wondering how much would be a fair payment? I know there are many things that this depends on but I'll list a few details and if you could give me a range I'd appreciate it. The site will probably have about 3 different pages to it, I'm providing the graphics, there will be a few quicktime videos on one of the pages, somewhere I'm looking for a link for a PDF download. Those are some of the basics. Any help would be appreciated and let me know if I left anything out. Thanks.

Sorry man but I kind of know the guy and it would really be a bad move on my part if I had already talked to him about it and then told him no.

Anybody else have any suggestions for how much I should pay this guy?

Do it yourself, get a trial version of some good website building software, make a account at 000webhost and upload the site when it's done. As long as you don't need to update it regularly, this should work fine.

Its very easy to build what you just described.

Learn it. It will take you just a few weeks. Youl be able to update and change things as you please then. HTML, java and php are all valuable skills as a person with a website, learn strong HTML (the easiest one) and basic java and php. Youl do great i promise.

I do freelance websites, and if i was to do it, at most £100, probably £50-75 depending upon how hard the layout is.

you can have a free website on the net and its free (it contains just 1 or 2 ads) but yeh its good if you wanna show people what ever it is you wanna show them on your site.

Not sure about the payment thing, but seems like an easy task. It's best you try this one yourself since it's not a huge project. Embedding files like you said, pdf, quicktime isn't a problem, the main headache is the layout. But with basic html and css knowledge you can do some neat stuff
