Don't buy an AM3+ CPU. If you want a better computer, do what you were originally planning on doing before and get a new rig. Get an Intel or AMD's next gen CPU and motherboard.

Nope. Anyway you don't want to go with AM3+ at this point in time. It's being replaced this year. AMD have promised us that this new platform will be absolutely amazing... so prepare for disappointment.
I'm kidding, I'm sure it will be an upgrade and well worth waiting for. You would have been a bit daft to buy AM3+ a year ago unless you were on a strict budget, so buying or planning to buy an AM3+ setup now a few months before AMD is due to launch its successor is madness!

That being said don't buy it.
That being said it is a little bit quicker than the X6: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/434?vs=146 but when it came out in 2011 it was hardly worth upgrading from your Phenom II AM3 platform to.
