hey guys, sorry I know this a typical thread but.. I want to see some of your guys suggestions. I read alot of posts already.. so i got a good idea of what I should look for. anyways

Im looking to spend about 700-1000 USD. not including monitor or OS.

I'm trying to build an all around computer mainly multi-tasking, watching videos, and some gaming.

what set-ups do some of you guys prefer for this? thanks in advance.

Im thinking on:

Gigabyte p35-ds3r board. or maybe something from Asus

Ram: 1-2 gigs, which speed should i get??

Chipset: Don't know, which would you recommend?

Hard Drive: probably 100-150

GPU: probably Gforce 7950?

wow... thanks intel! you just made everything so much easier for me!

1 quick question though, whats the difference in performance and etc.. for the core 2 duo you suggest and the AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+??

X1950, the 8800GTS blows it away, A-Data = Promos Chips, Q6600 = Not utilized & when utilized, will be severly behind b/c of newer CPU's

This is the percentage of improvement of the E6750 over the 6000+, E6750 is clearly the winner

thanks everyone! you guys respond fassssst!! with some good info. i really appreciate it guys. big thanks especially to intelcrazy. Thanks for your suggestion to kof, but i think ill just invest a little more money and go with the 8800gts.
