Building an SLi system...

Right here's the thing, I've got everything I need except for the power supply and a second card. And the card I have now is the PNY 7600GT (http://www.pcworld.co.uk/images/253378_01_huge.jpg) And I was wondering whether I'd still be good to go getting a PNY Verto 7600GT. I mean they look EXACTLY the same and I'm just wondering would they work in SLi. Only difference to me seems to be the picture on the box and card... Cheers:)

You have to get the exact same card, sorry dude, because the Verto could have just a 50MHz clock difference somewhere that would completely throw it off. I would either wait until DX10 or get the same card you have now.
Edit:disregard that, apparently if they are the same chipset (7600) they will work in SLi no matter what. Sorry bout that.

I'm pretty sure you can mix and match cards of the same chipset, but I would go with the same brands and models(IE clock rates and what not) if at all possible. As for the power supply, you're probably fine as these don't take that much power...but it would help with clutter to have one with two PCIex connections.

Yea it will work as long as both are 7600gt, mine are the same, it does seem like a faster GPU and memory would throw it off but it works!

Personally, Sli and Crossfire is just for the people who have all the money in the world for Quad SLi or the likes of that. By the time I upgrade my Graphics card, I will buy one that creams my cards in crossfire.

Thank you all very much for your help! I'll have a look at the specs for both aswell. God knows why PNY have to slap on a Verto name to confuse people! Cheers again.
