Building computer for the first time!

Hello, I plan to build a computer and these are some of the parts that i plan to buy:

Intel 3.4Ghz CPU
2 x 160GB Seagate Barracuda HDD
1Gb RAM (possibly 2Gig)

I'm having trouble choosing which Graphics Card to buy, i don't really plan to spend more than $500 AUD.
Can anyone help me decide on which Graphics Card to go for?

Wy Intel? AMD usually out performs an intel in the same price range;) About grafics i think an ATI X800XL should be good. What brand you choose don't really matter but Sapphire are usually good becouse you get a card that performs the same at a lower cost, i'm not sure what it would cost in AUD thoug but it thnk it's in the right price range:)

For 500AUD you can damn near go for whatever videocard u want....but what is the syetm for?

Except (1) not everyone is a gamer and (2) AMD isnt the same price range anymore
 
u didnt specify much detail, and yea im not shur how much 500aud is worth but if its close to usd u can get almost any video card u danm well want. make shur its pci-e not agp they arnt as fast, and your mobo has to be able to support the type of processor ur getting and video card. NEED MOR DETAILS :confused:

Its $380USD and yeah you can get a pretty wide variety of cards on that budget :)
 
It also depends on what you want to use your machine for. If your a gamer, then you'll want a higher end card, the same if your a graphics editor etc. If you're just using the machine for surfing the net, talking with friends, then you won't need something high end, a basic card would work, or perhaps even an onboard if all you do is surf the net and talk with friends.
