Building First Computer

Hello I am a beginner at building computers from scratch, and was wondering if i could receive some suggestions and opinion regarding these parts.

These were the parts that I am thinking of getting. One of the points i'm unsure of is the power supply (price is sorta low) and the processor. Would I be better off getting a core 2 duo/quad rather than the Core i5 processor? I would have to get another MOBO if thats the case so would there be any good ones out there? Is there any particular piece that is too under powered or overpowered? I prefer to get Intel but is there any benefit to getting an AMD system? Is there a way to cut costs too? I will probably be using this computer to run some games like first person shooters on normal quality, and just for regular work like word processing. Sorry for asking lots of questions. I'm new to this kind of a thing. Thanks guys

core i5 is better or you can go for Phenom IIx4.
What is your machine use for?

mobo - Personally will going for P55.

Thanks for the reply! I'll probably be using this computer for gaming and normal things like word processing. By gaming i mean first person shooters and such so i wanted a decent graphics card.

newegg has a 1055T combo that looks really good for the $477. Quality parts. Including case and psu which you dont always get in a combo like that. The psu isnt the best, but its not a "bad" one or low end model. Just add your graphic card and a cd/dvd (card readers are cheap)
