Building first gaming PC

I'm building a PC to mostly play WoW and maybe play a few new releases. I want to play WoW on ultra at preferably about 40-50fps and play new releases on high at playable frame rate. I'm trying to keep my budget under £600, and I'm not to bothered if this means I can't play any new games on really high settings as it will be mostly for playing WoW.

I've been looking around other forums and I think I've found a half decent build. I'm just looking for confirmation that it will be able to do what I want it to do and everything will work together as I pretty much know nothing about building a computer, however, my stepdad knows enough to able to help me actually put it together.

OK some suggestions.

Firstly, the 7870 is an awesome card, but it needs a PSU bigger than 430W to power it. A Corsair CX 600 will do the job nicely there.

You should get an i5 3570K and a Z77 board - better for overclocking should you decide to do that in the future. The GA-Z77X series are great boards from Gigabyte.

If you can't afford a Z77 board and an i5 3570K, step the graphics card down to a 7850. It's still a fantastic card, it's just that tiny bit cheaper though.

I'd advise getting a bigger case too. The Zalman Z11 Plus would be ideal. Has decent cable management and is relatively cheap, as is the Sharkroon T9.

Get a DVD-RW drive, they're only like 15 quid.

Hard drive is big enough, but if you can afford the extra, go 1Tb.

I'm assuming you have an OS?
 
I can't really afford the i5 3570k and Z77, so I think I'm gonna go for the 7850. Would that still need the 600W PSU or could I step it down to 500W?

Also, I'm looking at all these 7850 GPUs and I can't tell the difference between any of them, could you recommend the best choice?

I have a spare copy of Windows XP but I'm thinking of buying Windows 7 because it's what I'm use to. Is it worth the £70?

Do you have to buy it from Scan? Novatech and Overclockers are much better shops.

You want a 2GB 7850, I wouldn't bother buying an overclocked one. The best brands to buy from are Sapphire, Gigabyte, ASUS, MSI and XFX. I always buy from Sapphire, never had a problem. Here's one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-289-AS (it's an ASUS)

You could probably get by with a CX 500, I'd still get the 600W unit though.

The 7850 you found there is only 1GB. It's worthwhile buying a 2GB card now, because 1GB isn't enough for gaming beyond 1080p. There is a difference if you game at a high resolution.

Never had good experiences with Scan, Novatech and Overclockers have much better customer service (especially if you need to send anything back).

The case I found is better because it has better cable management features, allowing for better airflow and cooler components.
