If it is live TV you can not skip adds.
If it is recorded - Yes you can skip adds
Depending on the TV tuner card and the software, you can rewind, pause etc.....

Well i'm not sure, i know my dad has one, i can have a look and see what that is.

What i your budget on a TV tuner card??? and where are you in the world???

Edit - 7,700th post :D :)

Budget between $50-80 im in Australia

I am thinking about building some media center boxes up and perhaps selling them so people can hook them up to their TV's and pre load the boxes with movies i have purchased and TV shows etc. Just trialing everything first

oh, ok, nice

well can i recommend something from MSY??? www.msy.com.au

Have a look and see if you can visit one of their stores.

I think that is where my dad got his from.

I get all of my computer parts from there :)

Yes MSY is great! :) i get all my supply's from there except for servers of course.

But yes MSY have great prices i think i will head out there tomorrow or something and have a look.

Thanks for your help so far :)

Another question :)

I have now setup my media computer running XP currently and seems to be working great!

The question i have is, i also have foxtel in the house, is there any chance i can run that through my capture card/computer and be able to watch foxtel through my computer? possibly record shows from foxtel onto the computer?

Thanks in advance
