It is good, but I would make a few changes.

Motherboard: Go to a 990FX. It will allow 16/16 SLI if you choose to in the future. On the 970 chip you are limited to 16/4 and the 4 is on the southbridge, so it is slower.

Hitachi is a bad idea. They are some of the worst hard drives on the face of the earth. There is a reason why the industry knows them by deathstar.

If you can, up the graphics card. A 6970 or GTX 570/580 would be better. Of coarse you will be good if you can not afford to.

Which Hard drive would you recommend that would fit a $1000 budget

The one I linked to, or a cheaper Seagate drive. Just make sure you get a Seagate or Western Digital drive which spins at 7200 RPM and has a 32MB or 64MB cache buffer.

Where are you buying from, what's the total cost w/shipping for the parts you listed, and since no OS is listed you probably already have that?
I ask because there may be room to upgrade a couple things while staying in budget.
