Hello all,

This is going to be my first time building a PC from the ground up, and I thought it would be a good idea to ask around about the componets i'm considering.
So any way, here is my current layout(I haven't actually ordered anything yet)so if anybody sees any incompatibilities or has any better ideas let me know, please.

Case: Thermaltke Armor Series VA8003BWS Black Full Tower

PSU: Thermaltke TR2 550w

Mobo: eVGA nForce 680i LT

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600

RAM: Corsair XMS2 2GB DDR2-800

Hard Drive 1: WD Raptor X 150GB

HD2: WD Caviar SE 16 500GB

Video Card: eVGA Geforce 8800 GTX

CD/DVD: Plextor PX-760A

Monitor: Acer AL2051W 20"

Speakers: Logitech X-230 32w 2.1

Thats it,

Thanks,

well the e6600 is what now, like 220? im sure its gunna drop alot after the cuts seeing as how intel is bring out some new midrange chips to replace it. Plus 60 bucks could be a lot depending on the budget

E6600 = 6068 in CPU only test of PCMark05
Q6600 = 7735 in CPU only test pf PCMark05

thats a prety big bump in the butt for under $100 talkin about a 22ish% increase in performance, plus you get to say you have a quad core!.. I would go for it if it were me, but I gues it up to you.

change your speakers to
logitech x-530 usually around $50-$70 (older model)
Logitech x-540 $70-$90 (newer model)

Thanks for your input everybody.
I ordered my case, psu(Zalman ZM600-HP) and mobo from Directron last night.
:)

congrats..

I love Tiger.. they are one state line away, and they are AWSOME at shipping, if I order before like 2AM they get it boxed up and on the truck for pickup at 4AM and I get it that morning at 11AM.. I love it!!.. and awsome prices, I have never ordered from newegg but I hear there awsome to, I wonder how long it will take for them to ship and to get here, o well I have to order from them, and tiger, and frozencpu.comm and ebay.

edit: now that I re read you last post I releaise somehting..lol.. you didnt say you ordered from tiger, I thought you said DIRECT not Diectron..lol. O well.. lol

did you decided if you going to keep the E6600, or upgrade to Q6600?

I decided to go with the Q6600. It seems worth the extra $70.
I probably won't order the rest of my parts until the end of August, early September because I'm going to be gone for the first several weeks of August.
