You won't need a sound card unless you have a surround sound setup or you use your pc mainly for music listening.

Do you really need a Blu-Ray Player?

Instead of a 9800GTX, see if you can get a 4870, or at the very least a 4850.

Get a good brand power supply (Corsair, PC Power & Cooling, Thermaltake, etc.) and make sure it has 2x 6pin pci-e connectors, 500 watts or more and at least 32 amps on the +12v rail. (more watts are better, but if you go insanely high like 1000 watts it can raise your electricity bill)

At tigerdirect, the price of i5 750 is $10 less and does perform a little better than PII 965

It also has free Resident Evil 5 game

As for the motherboard, I would suggest this

You should get DDR3 memory

The 9800GTX+ is good video card, but if you can spend a little more then get HD4870

I would recommend core i5 750 instead of amd 965

However, if you get AMD, get one with DDR3 RAM. May be Gigabyte MA770T-UD3P
