Building my first computer

I already have the case and I'll receive the components soon so I'm having a look at the motherboard manual (Asus M4A79XTD EVO) and have a couple of questions.
Most of them are probably silly questions but I'm sure you know what it's like to build a comp for the 1st time and alone :)

1 - There are 2 USB connectors on the mobo labeled USB910 & USB1112. Which one do I plug the case's front panel USB connector into ? Does it make any difference ?

2 - Apparently the PSU (Corsair VX550W) comes with PCI-e 6 pin & PCI-e 6+2 pin connectors but I can't find the corresponding ones on the mobo. What's with these ?

3 - Regarding the PSU's ATX12V 8-4 pin connector, the mobo's is a 4 pin, is there any chance to plug it in the wrong way ?

4 - Regarding the case (photo below)
* cable 1 : the different connectors are labeled TPA-, TPA+, TPB-, TPB+, VG (GND1), VG (GND2), VP (+12V) and shield. There's nothing about these in the mobo manual, what am I supposed to do with it ?
* cable 2 : this one is for the front panel audio, one connector is for HD audio, the other one AC'97. I assume I want to use the HD but I prefer to make sure ;)
* cable 3 : there's another one like this for the large fan on the side of the case, I guess I'll plug the 4 pin peripheral connector that comes with the PSU but is there any order particular order when it comes to these ?

1) Any of it will be OK
2) those are to video card
3) That is 4-pin CPU power connector?? I don't think you would get it wrong.
4) cable 1 - are these fireware port? user manual of case should tell how to plug
cable 3 -no order, just plug them in.

1) Why do they have different labels then ?
2) The video card is a Sapphire HD 5670 1 Go. On the picture I don't see any plug for that connector. I assume it doesn't need it, am I right ?
3) No I don't think it's the CPU power connector since it goes from the PSU to the motherboard. On Corsair's website it just says EPS/ATX12V 8-4 pin connector...
4) cable 1 - it ought to be the firewire indeed. There's no manual with the case but apparently the motherboard doesn't support Firewire anyway.
cable 2 - I do want to use the HD audio connector, right ?

1. It DOES matter. You say you have your manual, turn to page 2-28 to 2-29 and read

2. The 5670 does not require external power, it is powered through the PCIe channels, so until you upgrade your video card, you don't have to worry about those cables

3. That is the CPU cable. Again, if you look in the manual, refer to page 2-2. If you look at figure 2, that is your CPU power sonnector. You can't plug in the wrong one. If you look at the ends of the cable, you will notice the right one has 2 square, and 2 odd shaped ones on opposite corner. The other will have 4 square pins. It is the one with 2 of each that it the one that you want to use and the one that will fit in, the other is a different shape, so won't fit in, it will only fit in the extra 4 pins on motherboards with 8 pin CPU power connectors.

4. You would use HD, yes, however, you will get better sound quality using the rear audio jacks as there is less interference
 
1) you may have front panel, and internal card reader which use usb as well.
2) Only high end card need external power
3) I think you could detach the 4-pin from the 8-pin cable, and then plug the correct 4-pin directly to your motherboard, as newegg say it has 4+4 Pin
4) IE1394_2 is next to your USB1112

You are quite right. A little word on warning to OP though, because of the heatsink over the MOSFETs, it can be a little fiddly to navigate the 4 extra pins around it
 
Thanks to both of you. I think I got it now :)
I'll probably come back with more silly questions when I receive the components.
 
for the cpu connector, the two pieces are different (at least they are with mine). i don't there is any way to mix them up.
