Building my first computer

Hey guys, so I decided to build my own computer and I was wondering If what I have picked out would work together, Also I need some advice to cut down on how much I'm going to spend because I don't want to get high quality/ expensive parts when I'm not going to fully utilize it.

I am looking to build a new desktop to replace my 8-yr old dinosaur, and I have no real intention of gaming (I play Flight simulator 9 occasionally). I just want to have a computer that is good at multitasking (my definition of multi-task is to have google chrome, Photoshop, adobe illustrator, and Ms word open at the same time lol), can play HD video without a problem, and I was reading about having a TV tuner installed too, do those work with the old fashion antenna tvs? cause I would like one of those too if they do haha (the price of one of these won't be included in my budget.)

My Budget is $800 so I am over by a bit, so I could really use your expertise to help cut out what I really dont need based on my usage.

Just a few comments, the motherboard you selected is pretty low end. I'd consider getting a better brand of motherboard such as Gigabit or Asus. You probably could go with a less expensive video card since you don't do gaming. Based on your stated usage, you would probably be fine with a motherboard with on-board graphics.

Do not get that case. Its cable management is a nightmare.
Get the Cooler Master HAF 912

As for PSU you really won't be needing 650W.A 450W PSU will be enough and will also save you some money - $45

Would you be overclocking your CPU,if not then for your purpose it would be really overkill to go for the Core i5 2500k since it would be way more than you require.

How about this GTS 450 Better brand and $100

I don't even know how to overclock, Would you suggest getting i3 or a lesser model CPU?

and thanks for the case suggestion.

You can always learn to overclock,
and since the Core i5 2500k has an unlocked multiplier making it more future proof.
But if you won't be overclocking or are scared to do so then getting a cheaper CPU won't hurt.

And did you change the PSU since you won't be needing a 650W PSU and also the one I posted is of better quality.

Yes I changed the PSU too, thanks also for that. I think I'll go with a cheaper CPU because I don't see myself overclocking anytime soon.

have you considered and AMD System? Amd is much cheaper due to its speed reduction under Intel, so if you dont need anything hardcore you could save oodles on just switching to AMD instead
