Building my First Desktop- Budget Gaming PC

Skips

New Member
I'm looking to spend about 600 bucks(not including the keyboard, mouse, and monitor), and I'd like to play games like Skyrim on High.

I've bookmarked all the parts I plan on buying, and I'd really appreciate it if you guys could check for compatibility issues and/or suggest better hardware.

Thanks in advance :)

Hardware
MoBo
CPU
HDD
PSU
RAM
GPU
Case
CD/DVD Drive

Go for 8GB of 1600 RAM.
Seagate Barrucuda would be a bit of a faster drive. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148767

GPU should be a 7850 as it's better than the 650 TI and marginally more expensive.

Case has crappy cable management and I'm sure you could find a better one.

CPU should be changed some a FX 4300 or a FX 6300 if budget allows. The 4100 is an older chip while the 4300 is the direct replacement of it and thus faster and more efficient.

PSU is not a good brand and probably not a good choice. Try a Corsair CX 500.

Skyrim is a very heavy cpu dependant game, so i would upgrade the CPU over the GPU if thats the main game you play.

Should work great. Did you change anything else as I suggested?

Yes, everything, actually. I even found a better(and cheaper) case. Thank you, again.

EDIT: Thanks to Stranglehold too. You guys have been really helpful.

Bad choice. The 300 is not worth $0.10. the 302 is teh updated version that is a little better, but overall just stay away from Antec and coolermaster. Very bad value in them.

Yeah that's a bad case too. Check out Rosewill, NZXT, Corsair, CoolerMaster (they're fine regardless of what Wolfe says), and a few other companies. Antec's design all seem to be a bit dated.

For a budget I'd recommend a Rosewill Challenger, NZXT M59, HAF 912, or a Corsair Carbide 200R/300R should the styling suit you.

Bleh, I can't find any cases I like as much as the Antec 300 or 302- I want something really simply looking. Is the 302 really that bad? People seem to like it well enough.

Also, another question: Will I need to apply thermal paste to my CPU, or does the heatsink come with a thermal pad? I can't tell from the Newegg page.

If you want a case that is good, simple, and cheap, get the NZXT Source 210. And only some cooler master cases are good, some are not.

The answer is just powerful. But the problem is that I cannot identify the genuine or the fake. I have bought a PC and got a fake memory chip and I didn't realize it until when my computer was broken.

What in teh world are you talking about? There is no such thing as a fake memory chip. There are low quality chips, but they all do the same exact thing.

all good options, but you are wasting money if you buy the 912. And Denther, use it daily for a month or 2 and then come back here and try to say it is a good case. Please do.

What parts did you pick in your final build?

All I can say is, What are you talking about?
