Okay, so my integrated GPU Laptop is really just making me want to hit my head on the wall. So I decided to build a gaming laptops for around $500-600 dollars. I have picked out my parts and was just wondering if this is all I need (excluding OS & Wireless card) and if this is good, which games and what graphics levels do you expect this to play?

Tell me what you think, thanks!

Hi mate, certainly not a gaming pc. The gpu and cpu are low end, so if you plan on playing the newest games at 1080p or higher resolution, you will need to upgrade these.

However if you're happy with playing games at medium to low detail at 1080p you should be ok.

Id replace the following

Motherboard $55

Graphics card $165

CPU $119

PSU $40

All up $379 as apposed to your original cost for the above components of $387. Save yourself nearly a $10 plus you get 2 free games.

The sandy bridge is as good (slightly faster) and more power efficient and produces less heat, much faster GPU (especially when overclocked), and quality yet sufficient PSU. Also a better quality motherboard.
