i have: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&docname=c00910224

im puting in:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817709025
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148537

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150462

my question to you is: Will she run it?! will it die in a giant firey ball of flames?!?!?!
but srsly if i put this stuff in will it actually work? i can install all of these on my own and correctly(if not the computer guy down the street can :D)

im worried about the mother board. i jsut wanted to install the video card, then i found out about bottle necking...so im looking at a new cpu(posted above) then found out i need a bigger power supply(posted above) this is turning out to be a big pain in the @$$

need advice. would i be better off, buying a fresh new tower and motherboard/diskdrive and installing all these? basicly starting from scratch and just build a new one.

should i even bother with the Compaq Presario SR5013WM ?

Anything would be great. Thank you in advance =D <33333333

The cpu link is dead. What was it? actually, that doesn't even matter. If you are looking for a system, I'm guessing for gaming, then you just need to go for a new one. That motherboard will be your biggest bottleneck. And I'm not so sure you can even get that video card in there (one thing i'm not sure about is if pci express 2.0 cards can fit in it).

so with that said, what is the system going to be for?

My advice would be to look at it as if your building a new system but use parts that still work fine from your old computer to save some money such as the hard drive, cd drive, and even the case if your so inclined to save the extra money. But also giving us a budget would help.

And that video card wont work in your computer either.

Also if you want to use your old case do you know the form factor it is? Easy way to do that is take a ruler and measure the mobo :D 9.6 x 9.6 is mATX and ATX is like 12 x 9.6 i think. I doubt you would have anything other than that.

Those 2 posts gave me all the info i need. if that mobo is going to give me problems i might as well get a new mobo.

i might as well build a whole new computer. right now i already baught the card and its on its way here. so lets work around that.

id like to stay under $800 for the whole thing.
and yes, i am using this for gaming(big gamer. i play everything)

i want atleast 3.0 quad cpu
1tb drive
and of course working around the card i already got ( shoulda just came here first =;(
if u can post mobo,cpu(3.0quad atleast), 1tb drive, psu, even a good looking case.
basicly give me a blueprint XD i knw im asking for alot but id love the help <3
iv been wanting to build this dream computer of mine for 5 years now. i got the spare change to build it. so im attempting to.

$800 to spend on the rest. i can MAYBE push 900
This stuff is so confusing. i jsut wanna play my games lol. its almost tempting just to buy a 360 and a good TV to play it on.

So you really dont think isntalling that video card, cpu, psu will actually work? i read all the specs and it seem compatible.

oh yea heres the cpu link again http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115130

im frustraited that i thought and baught all this myself come to find out its not going to work /pout

Well, do you have a preference between amd and intel processors? do you want 1tb drive or 2 500? might I suggest an ssd. You'll be able to use your old dvd/cd drive. Probably your case too. But you want a nice one. I can't find the power supply details on your old pc. Can you tell me that?

OK well there are 3.0 quad CPU's that perform worse than 2.6 quad CPUs :P but here is what i got:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148433

~640 which i made before you said 800 on the rest of the parts lol... But if your inclined to spend more ill throw another build up.

Edit: win7 in there if you need it makes it 740 i was wondering why i was so far off lol. and you could squeeze in an SSD for your OS or a cooler case if you wanted :D

out of your own opinion will that rig give me next to flawless gaming?
and working around the video card i already got correct?

and i am adding that WIN7 XD

umm well flawless gaming depends on the game but it will do very well.

And yes it should work great with that video card.

And that CPU should even keep up with 2 of those GPU's if you ever want to crossfire them.

Oh dang. yeah, you'll need a new one. Okay then.

cpu - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115215

mobo - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131624

PSU/HDD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.492736

this is a little less than $600. Case is all up to you. just go to newegg and find one you like, that's atx form factor.
what games are you playing?

and no, the gpu will not work as it requires an pcie 2.0 slot and you don't have that.

edit: haha, he beat me to it. And yeah he's right. If you want it to run higher than 3.0 just invest in a better cooler.

second edit: forgot the ram. but what the guy above me showed will also work. I think we actually picked about the same rig. haha

oh, and im playing...pretty much everything....bioshock.SC2. oblivion.GTA(all of em) MW2
pretty much everything lol.

and yes im adding xartanisxx combo becouse i will be thinking about crossfire.

haha. that card will work with either of our builds for sure. And it'll also play those games easy. I don't believe any of them are all that graphic intensive, save mw2 maybe. Haven't played sc2 so i have no idea.

SC2 is awesome... Except im on the crappy $600 minimac that can barely run it at low settings haha. But you should easily get medium - high settings without lag.
