Building New Comp, any Glaring Issues or Compatibility Issues?

Here are the components I'm considering right now. I'm wondering if there's any obvious compatibility issues, or if any of these parts have better options that are more powerful/efficient.

Basically, any "Red Flags" that go off while reading this list, I'd appreciate the feedback.

I'll start with the main components:

Antec 1200 Full Tower Case (obsolete, see Post #4)

XFX HD 5870 2GB GPU
Corsair HX Series 850w Modular PSU
MSI 890FXA-GD70 AM3 AMD 890FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition
Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64

And RAM:

I see 2 brands of RAM that have very similar specs, any suggestions?

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

or:

CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

I already own a 1 gig WD Caviar Black Internal HD which I bought 2 months ago after my original HD sh!t the bed.

Cooling:

The case (Antec 1200 Full Tower Case) contains 5 120mm blue LED fan's, 3 in the front, 2 in the rear, plus a 200mm top fan.

Is this sufficient cooling for this system? The review I read on the Antec 1200 Case said that the case was a "wind tunnel" while using the included fans.

With this setup, should I worry about heat problems? Should I consider additional cooling devices?

So I'm just wondering what you guys think of this build. Are there any components here that don't get along well? Are there any major incompatibility issues? Any general comments that might be useful to me?

There are better cases than the Antec 1200 these days. the HAF series by coolermaster, lian li and corsair cases, as well as others. Of course if you want the 1200 go for it.

you really don't need 16GB of RAM do you? Gaming you will need 6 or 8 maximum. You'll want a 2x2GB or 2x4GB kit of 1600mhz CAS8 or CAS7.

MSI motherboards are generally okay but they have been having issues where boards die with the hexacore processors, because they lack the necessary VRM cooling and power phases. I'd grab a gigabyte or asus board with similar specs.

Since you've picked the 1200, have a look at this PSU:

It only fits the Antec 1200, P183, and P193, but it's an excellent unit and very cheap for a high quality 800W. Easily beats the HX850 in stability.

I'm looking at the COOLER MASTER HAF X RC-94 case.

Important question: Does this have dust filters? I don't see it mentioned in the specs, but people in the comments are talking about dust filters, just wanted to double check.

The HAF-X is a good case regardless, but yes, it does have dust filters.

The mobo is good as well. :good:
