Building new computer, help

Hi, I'm trying to build a new computer, but I haven't built one since almost a decade. I'm so out of date with computer parts. I've been researching quite a lot recently, and I came up with the following for my new computer:

CPU: Intel Core2 Quad Q6600
Motherboard: Asus P5K-SE
RAM: 2 GB Dual, Kingston PC2-6400, 800mhz DDR2
LG 16x DVD/CD-RW 52x GCC-4522B
LG DVD R/W 18x "LightScribe", SATA, GSA-H62L
HD: Seagate Barracuda ST3500630AS, 7200.10 SATA 3.0GB/s 500FB 16MB Cache
Video Card: Geforce 8800GTS 640Mb PCI-E ASUS/XFX/BFG
Case: Antec P180
Power Supply: Antec Earthwatts Power Supply EA-500
Mouse/Keyboard: Logitech Cordless Desktop LX 710 Laser USB wireless receiver
Monitor: Samsung 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor (206BW) 2ms, 3000:1 300cd/m2 1680x1050

I'm from Canada, and my budget is about 2000 Canadian. And this will be exactly 19-- after the price drop for the Quad Q6600 in July 22.

My purpose: I'm a programmer and a gamer. I like to play CS btw. I would like my computer to be vista ready, graphic and CPU wise. Although I'd have XP first, until Vista is more accepted by the world.

So, if you think something doesn't make since in my config, or could be better without much sacrifice, please let me know. Criticize as much as you like :) Thank you guys!
 
Looks great! Prices would help though... Might wanna invest in some case fans, an better heatsink/fan... especially if your going to overclock.

Is a fan needed if i don't overclock? I never overclock a computer before. What do I need and does it make a difference?
