Building new computer!!!!!

Processor is overkill for gaming, a 2500K or a 3570K would be enough. Good choice of graphics card though.

As for a motherboard, go for a GA-Z77X-UD3H or UD5h from Gigabyte, they're great boards.

I'd recommend a Crucial M4 or a SanDisk Extreme SSD, 128GB.

I'd recommend 8GB of G.Skill RipJaws-X 1600MHz RAM.

Which case are you going for?
 
Thanks vistakid. I assume with a 2500K or 3570K, it would be sufficient to score 7.9 easily in W7?

For the case, I'm thinking of something that's like... white. I'm so sick of having Black cases... haha. Any recommendations?
 
My overclocked 2500K at 4.3GHz scores 7.6, if I overclock it to 4.5GHz I can hit 7.7. WEI is meaningless anyway, you can change the numbers to 7.9 if you like. It's just a text document. :P The only two processors I know of which hit 7.9 on the WEI out of the box without any overclocking are the i7 980X Extreme and the i7 3960X Extreme.

The NZXT Phantom is an awesome case and you can get it in white if you like. :)
 
Hmm ok, I used to hit like 7.4 with AMD Phenom II 975, was wondering if this will be outperformed by 3570K?

Also, what's the difference between the i7 and i5????
 
The 3570K should be faster than an X4 975 especially once the 3570K is overclcoked. In all seriousness, WEI scores don't matter really. I will admit I like to get the numbers as high as possible though. ;) My scores are 7.6, 7.9, 7.8, 7.8, 7.9.

The difference between the i5 and i7 is that the i7 has hyper-Threading so it has 8 threads whereas the i5 does not support HT so it has 4. For gaming you don't need 8 threads, but for something like video editing or CAD design or heavy rendering then 8 threads could be handy if the application you're using is multi-threaded.
 
Thank you for the claricfication. I am planning to play Diablo 3, or Aion, which both requires fairly high requirements. I had 6950 2GB with AMD Phenom 975 to play Aion and I had a range of 20 to 50FPS on that game... (Their new graphic engine makes every object in the game HD or something).

Thanks for all your help. I think i will be following your suggestions. (I did have my eyes on the NZXT cases :) )

Yeah I dunno what's up with my WEI scores. My SSD went down from 7.9 to 7.8 too!! :( I did a bit of Googling and found that most people get 7.5 at stock with their 2500Ks (I did too before I overclocked), so you must have a special chip. ;)
