building pc for audio recording, need mobo suggestion

building an ultra quiet pc for audio recording, need a recommendation on a motherboard/cpu
i dont really keep on what the hottest new tech stuff out there
someone recommended the Gigabyte GA-P35-DQ6 + Intel Q6600 quad core CPU to me, what do you guys think of it?
cost is not a major factor here, most important thing is the system does the job without performance issues, but id like to keep the price reasonable.
no this is not my first building experience

don't need that expensive motherboard. just get a cheaper DS3R. but you need a very good soundcard

actually im getting an outbourd unit for recording, firewire
dont need to buy a soundcard
