Building PC. Need help!

Hi everyone, first let me introduce myself.
Names owL. Nice to meet everyone! I am looking forward to the community.

On to my thread.

Well I want to buy a new desktop, but I want to get a great performance/price ratio.

I already put together some parts that liked, but what do I know?!
I've never done this before!

So, anyone that could think of better hardware, please recommend it.
I just ask that the new component is equal or lesser value.

Newegg Wish List: https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.aspx?ID=15130728

If for some reason whoever checks can't see the wishlist, reply that you can't in the thread, and I'll post them manually.

The total comes out right under $900.
I would really like to spend less than this because I would like to have spare money for: a new monitor in the future, a new keyboard and a new mouse.

I'm open to any suggestions! The less I spend the better:good:

Thanks!

Eh, sorry about that.

The total of this is just under $900, if you have any suggestions on different parts, please post them. I would like if the parts are equal to lesser value.

Thanks!

I personally would go for AMD Phenom IIx3 720 if overclock

#4. Thanks, that looks good. I heard that gaming with quad core isn't as good as gaming with dual core though. Maybe I'm wrong...

Thanks

EDIT: Seems like I will get another $150 this week. Should I use that to get better hardware, or a new keyboard and mouse

Oh wow that's crazy.

Could you maybe build a i5 or i7 rig that wouldn't cost more than $1000 dollars?

It will be used mostly for gaming, all other school stuff is done on my macbook.

I would like a nice video card. The 4890 would be nice, but if that makes the price go over, I could use a 4870 or 4850...

Thanks

I would lose the Rosewell power suppIy. The RAM I suggested is faster and the same price as the RAM you picked. You also have selected no hard drive.

Take a look at these components:

Patriot Viper 4 gigabytes (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) RAM - $80
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220371

OCZ OCZ700GXSSLI GameXStream 700 Watt Power Supply - $90

Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKS 500 gigabyte Hard Drive - $57

The quality of the RAM is the same with both. I would go with the Patriot Viper DDR3 1600 RAM because it is made in the U.S.A. G.Skill RAM is made in China I do believe.

Patriot is made in taiwan as is gskill. Patriot is a us corporation however.

I prefer gskill myself, it overclocks better and runs at a lower voltage.
