That's a pretty good system...though there are a few problems.

First off, Socket 754 is out. If you never plan to upgrade, it's ok, but otherwise, I really suggest you change to 939...

The harddrive...eh, it would propbably do just fine, but I don't know much about Hitachi brand drives. I think their mobile drives are some of the best, but that is kind of slow(only ATA100 and not 133 or 150/300)

RAM is ok, more wouldn't hurt, and I would definetly suggest bumping up to DDR400.

Screen is ok... The responce time is a little slow for games, but not too bad. Beleive me, I used one with 30ms responce time for a while

as the other one said, drop this for a socket 939, this should allow further upgrade later, in the short term the dual cores are running of 939 so that upgrade is an option.

you should be looking at pc3200 really, especially if your looking at 939 socket mobo

What is this rig to be used for, and just for clarity are you here in the uk?

There is no additional power supply listed - are you going to use the one given with your case. Maybe you could reconsider. Read - psu101

whether you get S754 or S939, the nForce3/nForce4 platform is handsdown superior to the via-based boards

hitachi 7K80 deskstar 80gb 7200rpm ata100 2mb cache - OEM
pricewise, its not worth getting a 2mb cache driver over an 8mb cache drive... have a look at HDD 101

lg gsa4163 16x dvd r/rw/ram internal dual layer ide OEM black drive
i'd avoid lg drives like the plague. some reccomendation in cd/dvd 101.

pricewise, the 6600gt may also be a feasible option

have a look at the PSU 101
