For the video something like a 7600gs would do you good if your not realy into gaming or a 7900gs but it cost more.

I would add ~$70 for a case (pick somthing you like (ATX))

I don't think you need a sound card since the motherboard has it and your on a tight budget, also do you have a OS? if not do you like vista or xp? both OEM are ~$120

honestly, i dont have an actual budget, i'm just one of those people who hate to let money go. but, i'll go over. i'm planning on about 60-100 for the case. video, i'd like to start gaming with my pc. i never have been able to before because my computer wasnt very good. thanks for the hd suggestion.

I hear ya, of course if you can i would get a 8800GTS 320mb for $270 and thats a good gaming card for the price. Though the 640mb version is $100 more. If you get vista, get Vista Home Premium 64bit (OEM) $114 last time i looked.

Its going to be a very nice rig.

what do you think of this card?

you think? hmmm, this is the first computer i have ever attempted building. i hope its good.
i'm torn between vista and xp. i dont like vista's interface and its compatability with older software, but, apparently, it can help with a better gaming experience.

yeah, i looked at that one to...and i guess if the clockrate is higher, there is no wrong in going with it at the same price. i'll update my list.

as of now the price is 919.95. i guess after adding the case and os it'll be around $1100. oh, well, at least it will be nice.

well some new games coming out will either have the option for DX10 or require it and the 8800 supports it.

its going to be a very nice rig though.

i would, personaly i like vista better than xp. as soon as you get it, under security disable "UAC"! lol. but it will be more "future proof".

ok, well one(two) last question:

if i get xp, what package should i get if i want to spend around $100?
same question for vista.
