buildming my own case

im going to build my own custom computer case, its not going to be an ATX format. but has anyone tried doing that, tell me if theres ne important things i need to do.
 
That's a craezzzy idea, your going to mess it up.

i think its a great idea because he can make the case exactly how he wants it :)

hahah thanks for your support lol , i do have the tools to do it its just the measuring, im doin blue prints in my head and computer, its going to be made of acrylic glass, metal supports for hardware and maple wood. its going to have a cube look but the top and bottom are going to be the polished maple wood, so all around it will be see through acrylic. :D a little modern in a way i just want to break away from the regular atx designs

I don't like it at all, you just wont have as good airflow as a store build case, and having wood on it will look stupid.

But other wise good luck.

well how do u know it wont have as much good airflow, i can put up to 10 fans or a water cooling system if i want but w/e

Might want to say thats your OPINION.
Heck, I could have a case made out of leather, with it spraypainted orange and as long as I like it it would be cool to me. No reason to shoot someone down just because YOU don't like the idea. Don't like it? Then don't worry about it, its not yours.

Thankyou holdenssx and evanscnce for ur support hahah im doing the mesuaring right now im ging to get a new mobo with crosfire and get another of the same videocard i have now , (HIS ATI RADEON 1650 PRO 512 Mb) soo ya its just going to be a cube look and the mobo is going ot be laing down instead of up soo ya , thanks for ur support :D

hahah will do , it wont be for another 3 weeks or so till summer, bc of schooling , but ya i got the idea from watching the nVidia lan party video and i saw cases that werent ATX models and i wanted to do that, i have the tools,i kno where to get the supplies , it just the measuring the I/O, PCI slots, PSU thats going to bother me,

Who says? Some store build cases sucks at cooling. He can customize his fan mounts and make an excellent cooling case. As for the wood case, i think it'll look great, but we all have our own opinions.
