Built first computer, need help

Hey guys. I have been a long time PC gamer but never built my own computer until now. After my last two store-bought computers broke in less than a year, I decided it was time to do it right...so I did. Here are the specs:

CPU: Intel Core i7-980X
Motherboard: ASUS P6T Deluxe V2
Graphics: EVGA GTX 480 Superclocked
Power supply: Corsair HX series 1000W
RAM: Corsair Dominator 6GB (3x 2GB)
Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Black 2TB
Optical Drive: Sony Optiarc
CPU cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus
OS: Windows 7 64-bit

I got the computer together without and problems and it booted up on the first try yesterday. First I installed Windows, and there were no problems. I installed motherboard drivers from a disc, followed by graphics card drivers from a disc. Finally I installed Webroot internet security. All these things were completed with no internet connection; I am waiting for a router. I turned the computer off and went to bed.

So I get home today and press the power button...and nothing. My keyboard is backlit and it did not light up, which leads me to believe that it isn't getting power. The mouse laser does not work, so it probably isn't getting power either. The monitor is black and flashes a little box that alternates between "ANALOG" and "DIGITAL" as if it isn't getting a signal from the computer. A white DVI cable is connecting the monitor to the computer.

Basically, the parts in the computer itself are working. All fans are moving, etc. But the monitor will not display an image and I cannot even access the BIOS or start it in safe mode. The keyboard and mouse are useless. The only thing I have tried at this point is disconnecting all computer/monitor power cables and the DVI, and re-plugging them in. Still nothing. Any ideas as to what this could be and how I can fix it?

Do hear a beep from the PC.

After you have turned on the PC the fans will run at full speed for few seconds and then you will hear a beep.
Do you hear that beep.
 
No, there are no beeps at all. Here's what my mobo manual says:

"After applying power, the system power LED on the system front panel case lights up. For systems with ATX power supplies, the system LED lights up when you press the ATX power button. If your monitor complies with "green" standards or if it has a "power standby" feature, the monitor LED may light up or switch between orange and green after the system LED turns on."

"The system then runs the power-on self tests or POST. While the tests are running, the BIOS beeps or additional messages appear on the screen. If you do not see anything within 30 seconds from the time you turned on the power, the system may have failed a power-on test. Check the jumper settings and connections or call your retailer for assistance."

One short beep = VGA detected, quick boot disabled, no keyboard detected
One continuous beep followed by two short beeps then a pause (repeated) = No memory
One continuous beep followed by three short beeps = no vga detected
One continuous beep followed by four short beeps = hardware component failure



The only thing I can gather from this is that it failed a power-on test. I have no idea what that means or how to fix it.
 
So the system is not Posting.
This has happened a lot with me and everytime there is a different solution.

I dont know the exact solution and I dont even think there is one.why dont you try various things which I tried.

1.Take out all the RAM sticks and try booting and if it reaches POST you will encounter a long beep.
2.Put the GPU in the other PCI slot and try booting up if it does boot up then switch the PCI slot again it worked for me.
3.Use another PSU to power up your CPU and once it posts switch back to your own PSU.
4.Disconnect all the SATA drives and then try booting up.
If it still does not work.I am out of Ideas just try different different things unplugging and plugging things it has worked for me 3 times.
 
Try unplugging it from the wall. Push the power button and hold it in a few seconds, do this two or three times. Plug it back up and see if it will boot.
 
I'm afraid none of that worked. Still no response from the monitor, mouse, or keyboard. No beeps either, so it must be a be failing the power-on test. It says to "call my retailer for assistance." I bought it from Newegg, so would they be considered the retailer? I doubt they will be able to help. It's incredibly frustrating that it works on first boot up but not now. Thanks for the suggestions though, mihir.

EDIT: StrangleHold, I just tried what you suggested and it did not work either

If it were a bad motherboard it wouldnt have worked for the first few times.
And since you have a really good PSU so the chances of the motherboard being fried are pretty low and bad motherboard also same chances.

Try resetting the bios by taking out the CMOS battery.

This has happened to me 3 times and I always suspected a bad motherboard but after a few hours of trial and error I finally fix my PC.
Once I even had to disconnect the whole thing connect it back and try a different PSU and it started working and then I used my own PSU.
But that was because RMA is not an option for me.
 
Starting to sound like your board or power supply took a dump on you. I would try taking it out of the case. Set the board on a wood or cardboard box. Leave the processor with heatsink, one stick of memory and the video card. hook up the power supply and monitor and see if it will fire up. You will need to hook up the Power switch button from the case or jump it by the power switch pins. And the PCIe power connectors for the video card..

Asus P6T has power and reset buttons on the motherboard.

I pulled out the battery, put it back in, and tried to boot but it still didn't work. I then pulled out the video card, RAM, and unplugged everything and put it all back together. It still doesn't display anything on the monitor. What would be the next logical step?
