so over the last couple weeks i have been seeing some hot cpu temps. ive been using coretemp for core temps and msi dualcorecenter for cpu and system temps. at first under full load it would hit as high as 57-58*c cpu and 61*c core, system stayed under 34*c,cant remember idle. so i adjusted my fans-it brought it down to 35*c cpu idle, 36-38ish cores but under load it was still heating up over 50*. so after debating with myself i ended up reapplying arctic silver 5 which was a good idea
ill tell you why. the paste was not fluent across the whole surface
i had 2 spots where there was visible metal to metal contact. so i cleaned with arctic clean( stuff works awesome!) and reapplied as5. now my cpu idles at 31*and cores 33-35* and under full load cpu wont pass 46-47* .
now my Q is do i need it to get hotter than 46-47* for a good burn-in ? does a certain temp need to be reached to achieve the desired effect ?
system is a amd x2 6000+ inside a msi k9n diamond mobo, ati sapphire x1900xt 256mb with 2g ddr800 adata memory. the hsf is a zalman 90mm(i think) and it has 3 silverstones and an antec for case fans. case is the same as an antec p182.
