Burned pci x16 slot?

So I was playin around with a gtx 480 (not on my pc) and I overclocked it a bit too much. I couldn't turn the pc on so I took the overclock off. The pc wouldn't work but it had two pci x16 slots. I put the video card in the second one and now everything works just fine, but I'm getting bluescreens whenever I try to use a video card with the other slot (not only on the 480 I also tried an 8800). So, is it possible that the pci x16 slot got fried?

Kinda weird if the slot was running at its normal default mhz/voltage even if the card was overclocked. Unless the card shorted and took the slot with it. Have you tried resetting the bios?
