Burning Audio onto CD's

I am having problems when burning Audio to CD's. The problem isn't actually the burning but the kind of burning. When the burning has finished the CD won't register on my portable CD player but will on my HI-FI. I am burning the CD's essentially to play on my portable cd player. I have other copyied cd's that work on it, but i didn't copy them, so i don't know how it is done.

Can anyone help?

Not all cd players are compatible with cd-r's or cd-rw's, it sounds like this may be your problem, try checking the manual to see if it is

You could also try switching the brand of media. I've had the same problem where a burned CD worked in my players but not on my friend's. Using a different brand CDR worked fine.

I am copying in MP3 mode. The CD player does take copied CD's.

Mp3 mode? Are you just dragging and dropping the files onto the cd or are you using a program to burn them?

No not draging the file, I am using Nero and have tried other download software. Does anyone have any software links that i could try?

Does your CD player support MP3's? Cause when burning audio cd's Nero usually converts MP3's to the appropriate format, how many songs can you burn on the cd? Usually when I burn audio cd's they can take about 20-25 songs. This is cause the new format is taking a lot of space.

That may be so, but when select your burning method in Nero, you need to choose Audio CD. Try that it should work. It sounds as though you just put MP3 files on the CD and that's why it doesn't work.

They may have originated as Mp3s, but if you choose Audio CD it will change the format to be recognised by a CD player

Nero 6 and later allows you to create MP3 discs directly. If your portable CD supports MP3 playback; burning a data-disc with MP3 files should work.
